Privacy Policy

This website and its services (collectively, "Growing Balanced") are operated by Growing Happy Littles LLC. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

What we collect

• Account info: name, email address, hashed password.
• Child profile info you enter: child's first name, age, sensory preferences and answers, parent goals, schedule steps, tracking notes.
• Sharing info: emails of caregivers / therapists you invite, and their assigned role.
• Usage events: basic activity (e.g., quiz completed, plan generated, activity started) so we can improve the product.
• Subscription & billing data: if you upgrade to Premium, we receive a Stripe customer ID, subscription status, plan, current period end, and a record of each checkout session. We never see or store your full card number, CVC, or expiry date — those are handled directly by Stripe.

What we DO NOT do

• We do not sell your data. Ever.
• We do not advertise to your child.
• We do not share your child's profile with third parties for marketing purposes.

Who can see your child's profile

Only you, and the people you explicitly invite (with the role you choose: Viewer, Logger, or Editor). Other Growing Balanced users have no access to your child's profile. Each user only sees their own data and the data others have shared with them.

How we protect your information

• Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash (bcrypt) — never in plain text.
• Connections to our servers use HTTPS encryption.
• Only authenticated users can read or write data; child profiles are scoped to owner + accepted invitees.
• We use trusted infrastructure providers (e.g., for hosting, database, transactional email).

Service providers we use

To run Growing Balanced, we rely on a small number of trusted third-party services that process limited data on our behalf:

• Cloud hosting — application servers, secure database, and content delivery.
• Stripe, Inc. — payment processing, subscription management, invoices, and the self-service billing portal (cancel, update card, download receipts). Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. See the Stripe privacy policy.
• Resend — transactional email delivery for invitations, feedback, account messages, and subscription notifications (welcome, trial reminders, cancellation confirmations).
• PostHog — privacy-friendly product analytics for understanding how features are used. We do not enable session recordings on identified-child surfaces.

These providers are bound by their own security and privacy obligations. We share only the minimum data needed to deliver the service to you.

Cookies & local storage

We use a session cookie and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember small UI preferences (e.g., whether you've dismissed a tip). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Your rights

• Access: you can view your data anytime in the app.
• Edit: you can edit child profiles, plans, and notes anytime.
• Delete: deleting a child profile permanently removes that profile, schedule, sensory routine, shares, and tracking history. You can delete your account on request.
• Withdraw shares: you can revoke access from caregivers / therapists at any time.
• Manage your subscription: if you upgrade to Premium, you can cancel, update your payment method, view your invoices, and download receipts at any time from Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription (powered by the Stripe self-service portal).

Children

Growing Balanced is intended for use by parents, caregivers, teachers, and therapists — not directly by children. Accounts are for adults (18+).

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email.
